Rolling

Here is Eli's new skill.  Yesterday most of the day was dedicated to him mastering this roll.  It became less and less effortful and more and more effortless as the day went on.  Unfortunately for me it is also effortless at bedtime and he doesn't particularly love being on his belly.  So he'll be almost asleep and then roll himself over and start yelling about it.  Guess he'll have to learn to roll back soon too.

But it is pretty darn cute!

and later tonight, after babe was in bed Eli was still awake and I got to hold him and read little baby books to him. He totally loved it! So sweet.

Rolling

Eli rolled himself over yesterday (3.5 months).   We left him on a blanket in the playroom on his back and were eating breakfast. Then we heard him complaining pretty loudly and when I went back in, he was on his belly.

I figured it was a fluke but later when I took him upstairs, as soon as I set him down he rolled himself two more times!

This morning he seemed to have forgotten about it or have forgotten how to do it, but he did actually do it!

And so, it begins.  Pretty soon we're going to need to have a childproofing party at our house! Oh Man.

2 months

Here's Eli on his 2 month birthday (5/17).  We went to the doctor a day or so later.
He weighed 13lbs 12oz  which means he'd added 3lbs 5 oz in 4 weeks.  Go buddy! (a healthy baby averages about 1.5 lbs in 4 weeks)
His head grew an inch and was 16 inches
His body was 22 1/4 inches.

So that put him at 25th percentile for length, 75th for weight, and 90th for head!
As Max said: "He's short, but he's fat!"   Go Boy!

I love our pediatrician because everything I ask about is a total non-issue.  With Sabine it was always do this thing that totally doesn't go with how you want to parent.  With Eli it's like: well, what's the big deal.  it's only a short time out of your whole life that he'll be a baby, don't worry about it.  So sweet.

Just born babes

A friend of mine just had her third and put up a post of all of her kids just born.  It is super cute.  So I thought I'd do the same.

A day in the Life: Sabine at 4.5

Here is a snapshot of Sabine's Day/Life at 4.5

7:30 she wakes up and comes into our room to cuddle and have a story.  Usually Eli is nursing and she likes to say "Hey, Man" and drape herself over me to get him to see her.  

Then getting ready for school and she's out the door around 8:30 - 8:40 for preschool.

She stays at preschool until 12 when we pick her up.

When she gets home we have lunch.

then from 1 until 3 she asks us repeatedly if it is 3 o'clock yet, and what time it is.  But really that is playtime.  On Fridays she goes home with a friend and goes to dance class, and on some other days she will have a playdate after school at a friend's house or we will have friends come here. Or sometimes Max will take her out to lunch after school and to a playground.  This time also usually includes many many wardrobe changes into just the right dress or shoes or costume.  

3pm she can watch a TV show and she usually has a snack.

After the show is more playtime until dinner which is around 5:30 or 6.  Then after that she has dessert often on a "dessert walk" where we all get out of the house together.  

Bedtime routine starts around 7 with the hope that she'll be in bed by 7:30.  That routine includes bath some nights and other nights just some cleaning up and then reading books and into PJs then bed.

Starts again the next morning at 7:30ish.  (and now my Eli's crying so I'm off to hang with him)
