Track Days

A few weeks ago, Sabine and I finally made it to the track to watch Max race. It was really fun to get to hang out with him and see him do what he loves. Sabine did great and had a fun time even with the loud noise of the cars. I have to say it was a little nerve wracking to watch him speed around the track with all those other cars, but he was awesome and I didn't have a heart attack so all is well.
here are a few photos:
Sabine in Daddy's racecar

To be the ultimate fan, you have to have the ultimate shirt. Here's Sabine wearing her "daddy shirt" and showing off her own racecar while standing in front of Xavier's car with the turtle on it.

With Daddy

We visited the turtle car A LOT.

And here's the whole family. And yes, my shirt does have a big photo of max and the words "I LOVE MAX" on it. Gotta show some support!

Driving Daddy

Ok so since i still can't post about sabine just yet because my computer is out of whack... i'll tell you about max instead. (i know he'll be thrilled)
anyway, a few weeks ago max went off for one of his driving weekends (which is why the blog is called Racer..Yogini.. and Baby). this one was in west virginia and he had great weather and a working car -- both good things as he's had poor luck before. let's not even get into the last tragedy of a car. so this weekend is called Hyperfest and features things like a drifting contest and a rollover contest.. i think there might be a daisy duke contest too but max didn't enter those. instead he took part in the race driving events. so he was in competition with other cars that are classed by power and weight and they all get out there and tear up the track. it is his obsession comparable to my yoga. his total zen.
usually it's all for fun . this time however they added a challenge, this time max participated in Laps for Life. it was a charity race to benefit the american cancer society. i don't think any of us is free from knowing someone who has had cancer -- probably someone in our own family so it is really cool that he was able to combine his love for driving with this great cause. so the race was a success... 3rd over all and 2nd in class (out of like a bazillion) and even better, he raised the MOST money for laps for life. he was awarded a sweet trophy in front of the whole crowd to celebrate. sabine and i are very proud even though we couldn't be there this time. if you want to see some in car video with max's comments included, to see what he's doing out there Click Here! Enjoy!
