Easter Sunday was the big reveal. (as if we were on a reality show or something) Aunt marty had the entire family over for Easter brunch along with some family friends. so i was in the kitchen with marty and my mom and marty asked how i am and i said 'well, pregnant" and she got all excited. and i told her i was planning on telling everyone that day.
so then we went out to the living room and she was asking my grandmother to say the blessing but first are there any announcements. i threw my arms in the air and said 'max and i are going to have a baby!' and of course everyone in the room screamed and were super excited. then there were a few minutes of "who knew about this?" asking if my parents and siblings already knew (which they did) and then Gigi (grandmother) asks max "Max, did you know???" i hope max knew!
inevitably the next question was "WHEN?" and i told them in October. my cousin Emily said 'that's so SOON' and at the time i was like, no it's not, that's like forever away.... but now i'm thinking... MAN, that's SOON. 6 months. not very long to get everything in order and under control for this next little creature in our lives.
Here are all the girl cousins goofing off before the big announcement....

later in the day we went to a friend's house to watch car racing and i promptly fell asleep. max thought it was very pregnant of me, but he didn't tell his friend that day.
then we went and called the remaining grandparents. all are very happy. and sadly we have to have a little laugh at our timing with max's side of the family. Max's cousin is getting married on the very night of our due date, i guess we'll miss that one. bummer. but in happier news one of my cousins and his wife are expecting about 20 days before us. by christmas my dad's mom will have 7 GREAT-grandchildren!
but all in all it's very fun to have everyone in on the not so secret anymore secret. and it's VERY fun to be feeling generally a bit better. Come on down second Trimester!
