Currently Craving: a NAP, i got up too early
as an aside before i start this post, sometimes when i come onto the page, the baby in the little circle on the side of the page doesn't pop up before i scroll to it and it looks like the baby JUMPS into the circle. it kind of makes me wonder 'what are you DOing in there?, like, what are you up to' i wish the baby in the circle moved because apparently the one in my belly does even if i don't know it yet.
anyways.
On the third tuesday of every month there is a meeting of the richmond birth circle. i think it may be a home birth group but it is a bunch of couples who come together and share about their pregnancies and later share birth stories. we were directed there by nancy as a way to connect with other home birthers.
so this week was the third tuesday and with a little effort both of us were able to clear our calendars, be home in time to eat dinner together before going and then head out to St. Matthias church for the birth circle. when we got there it didn't look like anything much was going on, and we weren't really that early but we went in and found out where the meeting is. Only, nobody was there. finally finally finally another couple showed up but they too shook their heads in confusion at why the group didn't happen.
so, it was a bust. i have tried to call the facilitator but no luck so far.
instead we went to panera for their black cookie (YUM!) and while i thought he might just brush the whole thing off, max initiated our own birth circle and we talked a little bit about our thoughts about the process before driving back home.
bummer. i do hope we can get connected because it will be so helpful to talk to others about it.

Wow--a birth circle sounds really fun! I wish we had one near here. I'm not sure Rob would be really into it, though. But you never know--he surprises me sometimes by not doing what I expect! Happy Birthday, by the way!!
