Currently Craving: Cereal with milk
Just before i woke up this morning i was dreaming about teaching yoga. i do teach in my sleep at times, max has told me i've instructed him to 'step to downward facing dog' and usually they are anxiety ridden dreams. this one was totally frustrating.
in the dream i kept trying to start class 15 minutes early and it was like i couldn't tell time. then the owners of the studio told me i'd have an observer from the teacher trainer program and that i was fine with. but suddenly my class was FULL of people. the room was overflowing with people and they were all over the place and the mats were completely disorganized. someone was using my mat too! so i finally got everyone organized and it was time to start but then everyone was trying to talk at once to tell me their ailments. this was supposed to be a power vinyasa class that lasts only an hour and i don't even bother with that stuff because if you're really whacked out you shouldn't take the class. so they're all yelling and talking at once and i'm not going to YELL over them to get their attention. instead i sat down and chanted the longest loudest OM i've ever chanted in my life. that got them to shut up, but then i had to go to each person and hear 'my leg hurts.' etc. finally we did get started. whew! but then someone turned on the music without my instruction and i realized i'd forgotten to pick any music. what we were listening to was all wrong (plus it wasn't supposed to be on yet!) so then i had to walk from the front of the room to the back where the stereo was to turn it off again. as i was walking my face was entirely covered with a scarf and i couldn't see. very annoying. luckily i knew where i was going. i kept telling students what to do and i made it to the stereo where i took the scarf off. when i turned around NOBODY was doing it. they weren't even standing up. and then one girl looked at me and she said,' um, we're missing a crayon' and i realized she had a basket of crayons and was coloring with a friend!!! arg! so i said if you're not here to practice yoga you need to leave. and most everyone left. and by that point my observer was rolling his eyes and i felt like i'd totally screwed up. the few people who were left still were not good listeners and by this time i was like 15 minutes into this hour-long class and we'd barely stretched the backs of our legs. not good. this was about when i woke up. frustrated and tired. not particularly anxious, more irritated that no one would listen to me.
