Baby Shower in the Country

Currently Craving: Actually green beans would be good again

So, the blog is on a bit of a delay at the moment as i'm gathering photos from the wonderful baby related events we've been having. (that and i've been tired and haven't gotten around to it) But here's an update.

last weekend i went to my parents' house in roanoke and celebrated my mom's mom's birthday with her and my sister and the family on friday evening. then on saturday my aunts Jane and Bobbie hostessed a fabulous baby shower for me and Babe in the country. It was very sweet. many of my girl cousins and my aunts were able to come. we played some baby games and they measured my belly. then the guests had to try to cut a string as long as my belly is round. amazingly my sister liz got it within about a centimeter i'd say. she says she checked me out in the car on the way down there so maybe she was cheating. when i got home i held up the string for max and he guessed it was about 37 or 38 inches. when we measured it was 39. this is the only time in my life that i will be happy with a 39 inch waist i can tell you.

one of the nicest things they did, on Shannon's suggestion, was to have people buy books instead of cards. then they wrote little messages to me, max and babe on the inside. so now our library is well stocked and we have lots of choices of great reading. i really liked that touch. and of course everyone did too much and i can never express enough gratitude for how loved we feel. family and friends are so amazing and people always go over the top, it almost makes me get a little teary eyed (maybe it's the hormones) so a BIG THANK YOU to everyone!

but here are some pictures and if you want to see more you can visit the photo blog HERE
