Dreaming again

Currently Craving: more of the chocolate bars from katie and shannon. yum

About the middle of the pregnancy the dreams essentially seemed to drop off a bit. and now they are still few and far between, mostly because i'm not really sleeping like a normal person any more so i probably don't get into the deep dream sleep.

but the ones i remember have changed thematic quality (oh yeah, i used to be a therapist) where before they were mostly anxiety dreams (with lots of them revolving around yoga students not doing what they're supposed to do) now they're threatening dreams. i'd almost say fear dreams, but i'm not actually afraid during them... in general i have a feeling that i can escape the attack i'm under.

Dream 1 : Attack by Lions

in this dream i was in a large classroom like the ones in my elementary school. this room had windows on three of the four sides. max was there and so were some other people and i have no idea what we were doing. the main thing about the windows was that they opened to the outside and only the bottom half of the window really opened. the rest stayed as it was, just like in my elementary school. so we're all there, doing whatever we're doing and suddenly there is a big pride of lions outside. and they are absolutely going to come in and attack us. so while they're busting their way into the room i climb out the window. this is made more difficult by my large pregnant belly (which is making it's first appearance in a dream). i manage to escape and am worried about max but know he will be ok too. -- i think i felt a little bit afraid of the lions but the entire time i knew i'd be safe, then i was more worried about max getting away.

Dream 2: Attack by Men

This dream may have been attached to the lion dream but i count it as separate. i ran to my car and just as i'm getting in two grown men start to attack me. essentially i am in the center seat of the car and they are on either side of me and we are struggling. i don't feel physical pain and i know they are trying to get me but they aren't really hurting me. i know i will be able to out fight them and get away. at this point i wake up. but it's interesting to me that i wasn't terrified or yelling out in my sleep. i also didn't tell them to leave or anything, they were just there for me to fight with.

so maybe i'm subconsciously preparing for having this baby? like i know it will be a huge attack to my system but i also seem to know i can handle it. OR maybe i have unresolved issues about lions from my childhood. who knows. at any rate dreaming is fun so i don't complain, even when they're a little scary.

I think it is unresolved childhood issues w/ lions. It is probably from the time that mom and dad dropped us off in the Serengeti in the middle of summer and we were chased by lions.
