Sabine is so lucky she gets to celebrate so many birthdays! last week we made it up north to celebrate Max's Granny's birthday (so that's 3 great-grandmother birthday parties this year) unfortunately we missed the big party but it was nice to have time with Granny and Pop. we were even luckier that Grandy and Yettie were in town too so Sabine got grandparent time with them. sadly, no pictures of any of those people. Sabine totally fell in love with Pop on this trip. every time she saw him she burst into the biggest smile and would wave at him. it was SO cute.
Granny also had sabine all figured out because she gave her an early birthday gift of a very adorable Baby doll. sabine's eyes opened wide and she smiled so big and immediately gave the doll a big hug and lots of kisses. she is such her mother (and grandmother's) child. she LOVES babies and dolls.
while we were there we got to catch up with a lot of people we haven't seen in a while. Sabine and i went for tea with my friend from grad school and her 6 month old (sabine wanted to hold that baby too but we wouldn't let her). we also met sabine's 2nd cousin... max's cousin's son BDC. Brandon, is 6 months almost and weighs more than sabine and is taller than sabine. he is a huge and very sweet and adorable baby.

And she met more of her extended family when max's cousins came over for Rosh Hashana dinner on friday night. Her cousin Suzanne brought her a gift of duckies for the bathtub. it was a set of three that light up when you touch them. Sabine FREAKED OUT about them! it was really funny. (she is once again my daughter because she LOVES ducks)
Waiting for dinner
in between it all we managed a family trip to the philly zoo. she loved most all of the animals. the gorillas were too freaky for her though. all in all it was a great trip. and being with family is always a treat. it also gave sabine a little time to work on her new skill... walking holding our fingers! more on that in another post.
