While my parents were here last weekend i decided to make an actual birthday cake for sabine. my vision was a really beautiful one with a great sunflower on top. i had a little trouble with the frosting process though... it was WAY too sticky so the cake was not as beautiful as i imagined. so i guess it's good that i'm starting my cake decorating skills now while she still doesn't care what it looks like. here are some photos:

this is about when Sabine decided she did not want to be so close to her candle and she started to cry. to be fair she was HOURS past napping and had put up with a lot that day, i'm surprised she held it together as well as she did

after Happy Birthday it was straight to bed for a good long nap. the next day i offered her more birthday cake. she doesn't really get sweets (except when max gives them to her) but i figured it was HER cake, she should get to eat some. but turned out she wasn't really interested. she preferred crackers. bummer.... more for me and max i guess.
