- Sabine spent the week with Mamaboo while i was away at yoga teacher training. they had a great time and really bonded to each other, so much that when i got back sabine was asking for boo and we spent a long time walking around the house looking for 'boo'. very sweet. well, a few days after i got home i talked to my mom and she shared this sweet story. Sabine and i are still going strong at nursing and i know that it's not about nutrition at this point but about nurturing and loving and supporting. so while mom was here every time she was going to put sabine to sleep she would cuddle her and hold her as if sabine were nursing. sabine loved it and held onto my mom's side just the way she holds me. on the last day sabine was all cuddled up for a while but not getting very sleepy. so she stayed there and then suddenly stood up in mom's lap (and mom's wondering, WHAT IS GOING ON NOW?) and then sabine promptly switched sides and settled in on the other side. SO Sweet!
- This weekend max is at the racetrack. (First place again yesterday, woo-hoo!) sabine is definitely talkative and is wondering where is daddy. i'm actually calling her a sheepdog these days because whenever she is with one of us she spends all her time asking for the other one and when she gets the other she wants the first... so really she wants to herd us both to the same place at the same time (good luck with that one!). anyway. this weekend she's been asking for Dada, or Dadee... and i say 'no, he's not here. where is he?' or i say 'daddy's with is car at the racetrack he'll be home sunday' and then she promptly makes the raspberry noise with her mouth, just like the sound of a car speeding down the track.
- sabine is very in to sorting the laundry and also into putting things on her head. i am so tickled every day to come in to my bedroom to get dressed from the shower or change clothes after teaching to catch her with a pair of my underwear around her neck. she's totally thrilled that it isn't enough fabric to stay on her head and instead makes a good necklace.
- finally, this week she is definitely having a growth spurt. she's eating like a champ, i can't believe it. and she is totally clumsy. i'd guess she has PMS because that's when women get clumsy, but we still have a few more years until that starts. instead i'm sure it's because her limbs are lengthening and her body awareness hasn't quite caught up yet. it's pretty cute but i know it annoys her to be falling all over the place. hopefully the growth spurt won't stop though, she needs all the height and weight she can get... she STILL isn't 20 lbs!
and now she's napping and i'd like to do the same while we wait for daddy to get home from the track and start another week.
