Holiday Beginnings

We Thanksgivinged in Florida again this year. Max's mom is a fabulous cook but we got her to drop all that responsibility (most of us don't even eat turkey) in favor of dinner at the club and more fun time to play all together. The verdict on this, once all was said and done, was that dinner at the club was great but the pecan pie was lacking... next year it's dinner there and desserts at home! (Nobody does pecan pie like my mom and Max's mom. I'm doubly lucky!)

The kids had a lovely time playing together. The grown-ups had a lovely time laughing together. And we all just enjoyed the downtime.

In the first two days we went to the beach and Sabine took to the water like she'd done before. This time, with big cousin A. with her she really got in there and was jumping waves and 'swimming' all around like Baby Beluga. She also enjoyed swinging on the swing at the local playground, riding her new pink tricycle there, making cookies with Grandy, and then starting the Hanukah celebration right there in Florida (only a few weeks early). Since then she's been liking playing dreidel.

So a nice time was had by all. The only challenge of the whole trip came when we got home at 11pm and she wouldn't settle in and go to sleep. That's no big deal so I think we'll do it again next year.
