Currently Craving: Something good for me, too much junk today. but we'll probably have pizza because max needs it after Africa
I think that was the longest time we've ever gone without actually talking to each other since we met almost five years ago. even when i went to Bali we were able to talk to each other. but in the last week we went about 6 days without speaking. and i only had access to email once so i wasn't even able to keep up with max that way.
in my yoga workshop we talked about the idea of Synchronisity. where people have a similar experience though not necessarily together... or that feeling that everything is lining up perfectly. and i think that's what just happened on our trips. we both had amazing, perspective shifting trips that challenged and excited us. we both came home tired but filled with excitement about our individual experiences. and probably filled with more love and compassion for all of humanity (though i haven't checked this out with max yet, he's still napping). that's a cool thing.
on my trip i discovered that i actually have a LOT LOT LOT more energy than i give myself credit for. we did yoga at least 5 hours a day for 5 days and i only really lost the energy in one of those practices. honestly, i have to give credit to the rest of the kula (group) because they had a lot of energy too and i'm sure i was riding their waves. and it was a very interesting subject matter to me of course. but i think i can do more with myself around here in RVA and i'll probably feel better rather than more tired.
also Babe seems to have grown quite a bit. i guess we're in that time where she'll be doing that every week since we're now at 25 weeks (only about 15 more to go). she has also gotten stronger in her kicks and she tends to like to keep me up when i'm winding down at around 10. and also she's awake by 6 am. she doesn't seem to mind yoga however and today she was jumping all around in there while i was hanging in the airport so she was probably waiting for the yoga to begin.
i did have the funny experience that most days during the immersion she would start way deep in my pelvis at the beginning of the practice and by the end she would be up by my belly button (Whoa! Mom, what are you doing to us??) and at one point i was practicing bridge pose (not wheel which is what gymnasts think of as a bridge) and my partner could totally see her sticking out of one side of my belly.
all in all though a fabulous experience. lots of great people. and some of the the BEST teachers i've ever worked with. sadly i guess that's my last true yoga hurrah for a while. hopefully i'll be able to take immersion part three with Todd and Ann next fall.
if you're interested in some pics and a blog about Max's Africa Trip you can check it out Here. Max is included on days four, five, and six. Day 5 has a really cute shot of him with the camera and surrounded by all the children.
(i did not get pictures, and it was nice to unplug from technology for a while)
