Getting Ready

Currently Craving: more space in my stomach

This evening max's parents show up. we're all going together out to charlottesville for a few nights to be with them and with max's sister, bro-in-law, and nephew. should be a very nice and relaxing time together before our Babe arrives and things go a little nutty.

in preparation for them to come we have totally cleaned our house top to bottom, inside and out. and when i say WE, i really mean MAX has worked his tail off for the last several days in preparation for his parents to arrive. swabbed the front deck, mowed the grass, blew the grass clippings off the sidewalk, cleaned the outdoor furniture, cleaned all the glass doors and windows in the house, cleaned the stove top to bottom, mopped the kitchen, re-grouted the bathtub (more than once to make sure it was complete), cleaned both bathrooms, somehow got the oven grease off my teapot, cleaned tyco's room, had his car washed, and made sure we had birthday presents for three people among other things. i did a few things. mainly i wo-maned the vacuum cleaner today. but max was quite obviously seriously kicking butt on house cleaning (and he worked all night and day friday and saturday).

How much does that rock?!

ever since i've been pregnant, he has been the sole bathroom cleaner in the house. so contrary to what some might have me believe... boys really can clean bathrooms.... and do a good job at it. that just rules, seriously.

i won't say i'm totally shocked at max's ability to clean and make a house look absolutely amazing. when we were dating, he made a point to keep his house super clean and it went to a whole new level when he was in the process of selling it. so i knew what i was getting when i married him. but for a woman starting her third trimester not to have to worry about cleaning the bathroom or mopping the kitchen before her in-laws arrive is a gift straight from heaven.

and so to max (and his parents who taught him to do this) i say: "THANK YOU VERY MUCH, YOU ROCK!" and now i'll go enjoy a few moments of quiet in my super clean house before my super cool in-laws arrive.
