Having Sabine in our lives has meant that we have developed a whole new vocabulary for talking about what's going on with her at any moment. here is a key to what we're saying just in case you happen to hang out with us any time soon:
Modes Sabine is a bit like a computer and could be in any of a number of modes at any time. they include:
Sleep mode
Party mode (playtime)
Fuss mode/Fit mode
Book mode
and Walk mode
Zones these are designated areas in the house where she might enter one of the modes.
Party Zone (the play mat)
Changing Zone
Nap Zone
Sleep Zone
and then there is just general language we have developed:
Toots - a poopy diaper
Napable - she's ready to take a nap
Snackable - she could eat
Tideme - something small to eat to tide me over
Hand Snack - can be a verb or a noun. describes something eaten by hand (like cereal). so you can hand snack the lucky charms, or you can have a hand snack of lucky charms. (ok, we use this one for us, but i'm sure we'll use it for her when she eats solids)
Throwing herself to sleep - happens when she is cranky and fitting before bed
Partying Hard - happens when she plays a LOT and is very active, usually with dad
Bjorn her - to be the parent wearing the bjorn to carry her on the walk
Sling her - same as bjorning, only in the sling
those are all i can think of at the moment, but i love how every family has their own code for things. if you comment, leave some of yours.

tallulah came up with this one...
gurmmied -- it means a combination of messed up/wrinkled/ruined.
"the sheets on the bed are all gurmmied up at the bottom."
