Car Guys like Babies Too

Currently Craving: sleep
Last weekend some of max's car buddies got together to celebrate Babe.

Check out the invitation:
Please join Charley and me as we honor Max and Sarah as they turn in to a new lap of their race.

The green flag will drop on Saturday, September 20th and you can start lining up on grid at 7:00 pm. We will accelerate to an apex of horsd'oeuvres and pit stops will include wine and golden beverages (soft drinks will be available for the novices.) The track is located at ...

One yellow flag of caution, as a result of other events and used parts, there has been a request to not supply the co drivers with support equipment. However, I think they could use other types of endorsements such as a bottle of wine, imported beer, movie passes, or gift cards to restaurants for their use after the checkered flag is dropped.

Please let race control know if you and your co driver will be lining up on grid.

Hope to see you then, Charley & Ken

and in a great gag... max's friend Rob created a FOR SALE sign for his race car... complete with pictures. everyone had a good laugh on that one.

it was very nice to be able to catch up with this crew and somehow, of course, we found out that one of the couples there used Nancy and attempted home birth then VBAC with her. it is totally a small world around here and EVERYONE knows nancy.

i liked that they didn't bring baby gifts and instead brought adult gifts. woo-hoo. so now we have lots more wine, and several gift certificates. one couple got us a gormet food delivery. i think we log on and order a meal shipped right to our house. that sounds good so i'm excited.
there's also a teenager in the group and he got us two baby books. the first is the ultra classic 'goodnight moon' can't go wrong there. the second is called : Racecar Driver. and is shaped like a racecar driver. and then it goes on and on about what racecar drivers are all about. i can just imagine reading it to Babe while max is off at the track.

unfortunately, no pictures of the event but here are some of max as a racecar driver:
